PALS WITH THE BIG G- Good Works

I've really been trying to update with religious posts pretty frequently, but my posts seem to either get too long with out getting to the point, or it's just really hard to express what I'm trying to say.  So, starting today, I'm going to try to a new approach to these posts. I'm going to try just posting some single line thoughts and if I feel like building off them, I will, if not, I wont. Here we go...

PALS WITH THE BIG G: MOMENTARY LIFE

Today's reading comes from the Gospel of Luke (11:29-32) and concerns something I think many people today require of God in order to find faith: a sign.

PALS WITH THE BIG G: A FOR EFFORT

It's been a while again since I last wrote about a religious topic and here we are already at the beginning of Lent. For the past three years I've done daily faith blogging as part of my Lenten efforts, and so I intend to do the same this year (even though we're already five days in to the season). I suppose it'd be conventional to start with a reflection on the temporary state of mortal life in accordance with the first readings of Lent, but I'm going to try starting with a meditation on a line which I have always struggled with making sense of.

"Those who love their life will lose it, those who hate their lives will save it."

PALS WITH THE BIG G: EPIPHANY

I was originally hoping to have written this article at the tail end of the Christmas season to coincide with the Feast of the Epiphany, the celebration of the Magi finding Jesus, Mary, and Joseph in Bethlehem. Instead, I find myself finally finding time during perhaps a more fitting celebration- Dr. Martin Luther King Day.

2017

Here we are at 2017!

I'm going to be trying to be much more active this year on all my web publishing sites! And while I will be posting primarily Zombie Shark Bear and other art work in most places, I think this blog will still be my primary place for religious reflection.

So, to start the new year off right... here's some art that I never got around to posting in 2016!

Pepper being sneaky with that mistletoe!

Even though 2016 had a lot of ups and downs, I was happy at the beginning of it because I managed to do two Christmas drawings and a New Years drawing for the first time ever....

Pals with the Big G: A Better Way

Happy Christmas and Merry New Year!

I apologize for the increasingly rare updates and the lack of new artwork on this allegedly art-themed blog… one of my New Year’s resolutions is definitely to increase activity on this site!

And for the first time ever, I actually managed to create three unique pieces of art to commemorate our late 2015/ early 2016 holidays! I've been meaning to lend my artistic abilities to my love of the faith for a long while now, so I'm really happy that I finished this piece. Just wanted to do something simple and happy with it and I'm pretty pleased with how it came out, though I may go back and try to add some texture in there at some point....

PALS WITH THE BIG G: What is asked

Hey all!

Another update regarding my thoughts on the Christian faith. But don't worry! I've got tons of art updates coming too, so if philosophy isn't your cup of tea, there's some new things to look forward to!

Anyway, follow the jump to read the rest of the article!

PALS WITH THE BIG G- The List

Wow, it's been a long time since I've posted! In between my activity on Tumblr and Tapastic, my poor blog and Deviant Art have really been left behind and unattended. Maybe it was for the better, since between the last post and now, I've learned to really value brevity.

PALS WITH THE BIG G PART 20: To Be Continued...

Well, this is it... the last Lenten post for this year, but as the title implies, I'll still be doing these kinds of posts every now and then, and hopefully this time on a more regular basis than before.

PALS WITH THE BIG G 19: The Simple Things

Happy Easter to all my friends, family, and readers!

Well, we've finally reached the end of the Lenten season, which means today I will be posting my final two articles in this project. This is the first.

PALS WITH THE BIG G PART 18: The Want to Give

Final post for Holy Saturday 2015...

PALS WITH THE BIG G PART 17: Never Enough

This is so much later than I was planning on posting, but does it matter? My view counts are at zero anyway... screw it! Part two of today's posts!

PALS WITH THE BIG G PART 15: The Sign of the Cross

My final post for Good Friday, 2015 is pretty topical and builds on some of my past posts.

PALS WITH THE BIG G PART 14: Self Inflicted Damage

Today's post, Part Two!

PALS WITH THE BIG G PART 13: A Happy Place

Well, here we are Good Friday and I'm still in the low teens with my post count... Pretty disappointed I've only made it this far, but it has been a really, really busy last few months and last time I was doing this project I was able to fully commit to it since it was the only project I had running at the time... Still I really wish I could have done better. Anyway, I'm shooting for ending the Lenten season with 20 posts, which means three today, three tomorrow, and a final post on Easter Sunday.

Let's get started! The first post is going to be simple...

Pals with the Big G 12: In The Details

So far behind...

Luckily, I'm making great headway with one of my other projects, so hopefully that'll translate into more writing time for me in the very near future.

PALS WITH THE BIG G 11: The fine print

Today's post is going to build off of the sermon given today by the Pastor of my church. It was an excellent homily about the harsh reality of being a Christian and all that entails.

PALS WITH THE BIG G VOL. 9: A matter of pride

Well now that I am at least 10 days behind, I am going to be redoubling my efforts to post on a regular basis and get caught up before the end of the season.

So let's cut to the chase!
